Curriculum

The academic curriculum follows guidelines developed by the Diocese of Rockford, based on Illinois State Standards.

The core curriculum includes Language Arts, Reading, Social Studies, Science, Mathematics and Religion.

Special classes include Technology, Spanish , Music, Art, Library and PE classes.

Religion classes and Mass attendance are an important and integral part of the curriculum.

Test Scores

Evidence for the superior performance of students from Montini Catholic School comes from the 2007 Iowa Test of Basic Skills. It demonstrates that, as is the case nationally, the longer students stay in the Catholic School setting, the higher scores become.

These tests compare scores in reading, math, language arts, science and social studies at grades 3, 5, and 7. The average score would be at the 50th percentile.
